At Fletcher MUNC, the chairs will be scoring delegates. Every session, each delegate will be scored on the basis of four criteria, each worth up to 10 points for a total of up to 40 points each session:
1. Knowledge of the Issue: Does the delegate have a deep understanding of the issue and do they use their knowledge of the issue to produce thoughtful solutions?
2. Knowledge of the Country's Position: Is the delegate following the policies of their country? Does the delegate seem to have fully researched the opinions of their country on the issues before them?
3. Knowledge of Procedure: Does the delegate know how parliamentary procedure, as well as the procedure of their council, works and can they apply that during debate? Does the delegate correctly practice decorum?
4. Participation: Is the delegate active in debate? Does the delegate help in the process of writing resolutions/action plans? Does the delegate choose speak without the chair requiring them to?
Crisis Council members will also be scored based on their crisis notes. Crisis Staff will look to see that delegates understand their positions, request actions in line with their positions, and are active note writers. Delegates in HCC that send no notes during a session will receive 0 points for crisis notes for that session. Overall scores are accordingly adjusted for the purposes of determining school awards.
Position papers shall be worth 80 points and are due at the beginning of Session 1. Please go to the "Position Papers" page for further details.
At the end of the conference, the following awards will be given out for each council: Best Delegate, a 2nd and 3rd place award, Verbal Commendation. In addition, awards will be given out to the top 2 schools, which will be determined by the scores of a school's top 6 delegates.
For the purposes of avoiding a conflict of interest, delegates from Fletcher High School will not be eligible for an award and Fletcher High is not eligible for a school award.
The chairs will not be informed about which school each delegate in their council is from in order to avoid any bias.
